“At Summerhill B&B in Castletownbere County Cork, Nealie makes it his business to ensure that our walkers are well looked after. A warm welcome, a good night’s sleep and an appetising breakfast are what you expect from a good B&B and you can be sure that you will get all this and more here.”

“Lovely B and B Castletownbere” Actually got this recommendation from a local at the pub when we were looking for a place to stay. Rooms were clean, very large and roomy and all ensuite.ideal for families. Host really nice and friendly. Made a great recommendation for dinner and also a fine cook as he made all the breakfasts as well. Gave us some good tips on places to visit on the beautiful Beara peninsula .

“Walking distance to Pub’s!” We were given a choice of rooms! We decided just the bed and bathroom would be sufficient. We were here in Castletownbere to meet up with family and were able to walk into town and enjoyed a night at the pub. Had a great nights sleep with ensuite bathroom! and beautiful breakfast. Great host, very friendly, thank you…we definitely recommend.

“The best bed and breakfast!” We loved it here! We stopped by Castletownbere late from a long drive on our honeymoon in Ireland and he was very welcoming and kind. “One word!!!!!!! Excellent!!!!” We have stayed a few times here at Nealie’s! We always have a very warm welcome and he has become a good friend! Every time we stay the rooms are immaculate!! En suite rooms with tv, tea & coffee making facilities! Very spacious rooms and very comfy beds. Only about 2 minute walk to the hustle and bustle of town and very quiet in the wee small hours! There is no swimming pool at this b&b but if you fancy a dip there is a very nice strand round the back! Would recommend to anyone staying in the Castletownbere area!

“Great Base” I have just returned from a short stay to visit relatives in the area. Neil made us very welcome and accommodating. Our room was large, bright and immaculate. The breakfast was excellent and set us up for the day. I have stayed here on several occasions and it just gets better and better.
Room Tip: All rooms are excellent and it would not matter which one you are allocated.

“Great stay” The rooms were fine and within easy walking distance of town. The host helped us sort out some car problems and even mailed our post cards. The four of us all enjoyed the breakfasts and the helpful advice as to where to have dinner.

“Very, very good” Con O’Sullivan runs a fantastic B&B. The bright open hallway welcomes you while the rooms are large and bright. We had a downstairs triple/family room and it was spotless although the couch could be removed as it didn’t fit in with the rest of the decor. we saw the upstairs rooms also and the views are spectacular. I would have liked more channels on the tv as it was a miserable night and even tv3 would have been an addition! The breakfast was delicious-all cooked by Con and exactly as requested. fresh sausages and what a variety of food. The only point I would say is that the quality of the orange juice could be upgraded and perhaps and to also include either pancakes or French toast (it would work) and maybe a bowl of chopped fresh fruit. Fruit was available and a choice of it but it would have been all the more impressive in a pottery bowl- for this standard it’s the extras that matter.
All in all an excellent place-keep up the good work.
